400;\">Selama Ramadhan, takjil biasanya dibungkus menggunakan plastik konvensional yang tidak dapat terurai. Plastik sintetis seperti polietilen (PE) dan polipropilen (PP) membutuhkan waktu hingga 500 tahun untuk terdegradasi, sehingga plastik dapat mencemari lingkungan dan mengancam ekosistem (Ritchie &amp; Roser, 2018). Bioplastik hadir sebagai solusi karena dapat terdegradasi dengan lebih cepat. Artikel ini mengulas potensi bioplastik sebagai kemasan takjil berkelanjutan dari perspektif biologi.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Apa Itu Bioplastik?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bioplastik merupakan polimer yang berasal dari sumber terbarukan (misalnya pati, selulosa, atau asam polilaktat\/PLA) atau hasil sintesis mikroorganisme (seperti polihidroksialkanoat\/PHA) (European Bioplastics, 2022). Berbeda dengan plastik konvensional berbasis minyak bumi, bioplastik dapat bersifat biodegradable atau compostable, tergantung struktur kimianya. Contohnya, PLA dari fermentasi glukosa jagung terurai 80% lebih cepat dalam kondisi kompos industri dibandingkan PE (Groot et al., 2010).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Keunggulan Bioplastik dalam Kemasan Takjil<\/b><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Biodegradabilitas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Bioplastik seperti PHA dan pati termodifikasi dapat terurai dalam 6\u201324 bulan di lingkungan tanah atau laut, mengurangi risiko mikroplastik (Tokiwa et al., 2009).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Jejak Karbon Rendah<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Produksi PLA menghasilkan 60% lebih sedikit emisi CO\u2082 daripada plastik sintetis (Hermann et al., 2011).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Kompatibilitas dengan Makanan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: PLA memiliki sifat penghalang kelembapan yang baik, cocok untuk kemasan kue atau kurma (Auras et al., 2004).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><b>Tantangan dan Prospek Pengembangan<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meski menjanjikan, bioplastik masih menghadapi kendala:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Biaya Produksi Tinggi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Harga PHA 2\u20133 kali lebih mahal daripada plastik konvensional (Chen &amp; Patel, 2012).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Infrastruktur Kompos Terbatas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Bioplastik compostable memerlukan fasilitas pengomposan bersuhu tinggi (&gt;50\u00b0C), yang belum tersedia merata di Indonesia.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Potensi Kontaminasi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Jika tercampur dengan plastik konvensional, bioplastik dapat mengganggu proses daur ulang (Rujni\u0107-Sokele &amp; Pilipovi\u0107, 2017).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Upaya kolaborasi antara peneliti, industri, dan pemerintah diperlukan untuk meningkatkan skala produksi dan edukasi masyarakat. Inovasi seperti bioplastik dari limbah pertanian (sekam padi, kulit singkong) juga tengah dikembangkan di Indonesia (Suryanegara et al., 2020).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Penutup<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bioplastik menawarkan alternatif berkelanjutan untuk mengurangi dampak lingkungan kemasan takjil. Meski belum sempurna, kemajuan bioteknologi dan ekonomi sirkular berpotensi mengatasi hambatan saat ini.
