style=\"--awb-content-alignment:justify;\"><p><b>Menggunakan Bioteknologi untuk Menyelamatkan Terumbu Karang Indonesia<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Terumbu karang, ekosistem laut tropis yang menjadi penopang keanekaragaman hayati laut, kini menghadapi ancaman kritis akibat perubahan iklim, polusi, dan eksploitasi berlebihan. Indonesia, sebagai pusat segitiga terumbu karang (Coral Triangle) yang menyusun 18% terumbu karang dunia, memiliki peran strategis dalam konservasi global (Burke et al., 2012). Namun, data Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) menyebutkan hanya 36,8% terumbu karang Indonesia dalam kondisi &#8220;sangat baik&#8221; (LIPI, 2021). Di tengah krisis ini, bioteknologi muncul sebagai solusi inovatif untuk restorasi dan adaptasi terumbu karang.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>1. Transplantasi Karang Berbasis Skrining Genetik<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transplantasi karang konvensional sering terkendala tingkat keberlangsungan hidup yang rendah. Teknik <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">microfragmentation<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dan <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">assisted evolution<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> memanfaatkan skrining genetik untuk mempercepat pertumbuhan dan meningkatkan ketahanan karang terhadap stres termal. Penelitian Denis dkk. (2024) menunjukkan karang <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Acropora millepora<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> yang melewati seleksi genetik ITS2\/psbAncr memiliki toleransi 4\u00b0C lebih tinggi terhadap suhu ekstrem.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>2. <\/b><b><i>Cryopreservation<\/i><\/b><b> untuk Bank Gen Karang<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Penyimpanan genetik melalui <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cryopreservation<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (pembekuan suhu ultra-rendah) menjadi &#8220;asuransi&#8221; bagi spesies karang terancam. Teknik ini melibatkan pengawetan larva karang (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">planulae<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) atau jaringan polip dalam nitrogen cair (-196\u00b0C). Hagedorn dkk. (2017) berhasil mengkriopreservasi 15 spesies karang endemik, termasuk <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Acropora hyacinthus<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Bank gen ini memungkinkan reintroduksi massal jika populasi alami kolaps.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>3. Bioakustik dan Rekrutmen Larva<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teknologi bioakustik memanfaatkan rekaman suara ekosistem karang sehat untuk menarik larva karang (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recruitment<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). Eksperimen Pysanczin dkk. (2023) menunjukkan peningkatan 54% kolonisasi larva <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Acropora<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> saat speaker bawah air memutar suara ikan dan karang sehat. Metode ini sedang diusung untuk memulihkan daerah <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">degraded<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> yang kehilangan sinyal ekologis alami.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Tantangan dan Rekomendasi<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meski potensial, aplikasi bioteknologi di Indonesia masih terhambat biaya tinggi, kurangnya SDM ahli, dan regulasi yang belum mendukung. Diperlukan integrasi antara riset (misalnya di BRIN), komunitas lokal, dan kebijakan berbasis bukti. Proyek <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Biorock<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> di Pemuteran, Bali, yang menggabungkan elektrolisis air laut untuk memperkuat struktur karang, menjadi contoh sukses kolaborasi multisektor (Rani et al., 2023).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Penutup<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bioteknologi bukan &#8220;solusi ajaib&#8221;, tetapi alat vital untuk membeli waktu bagi terumbu karang di tengah krisis iklim. Dengan 60.000 km\u00b2 terumbu karang, Indonesia bisa menjadi pemimpin global dalam inovasi ini\u2014asal didukung pendanaan berkelanjutan dan kesadaran kolektif.
